Greenville Police said a sweepstakes business was robbed around 10:30 p.m. Monday night.
Police said the Emerald City Sweepstakes in the Greenville Square Complex, located in the 700 block of Southeast Greenville Boulevard, was robbed.
They said there were a few people inside at the time. Police described the robber as a male with dark skin, around 5'5", wearing a bandana and carrying a handgun.
They said he took off in the southern direction from the complex. "He was last seen actually running down this breezeway headed towards Arlington Boulevard," said Sgt. Oxendine of the Greenville Police Department.
Police say they responded quickly, but the robber was already gone. "We set up a perimeter with our patrol units," said Oxendine, "and actually a couple detectives helped us out and did what we could to try to apprehend him."
There were no injuries reported.
The incident is still under investigation.
