Volunteers keep North Carolina clean
Volunteers across the state are meeting this weekend to "take out the trash".
The "Big Sweep" is an effort to pick up litter from waterways and inland environments. This annual event has grown in popularity throughout the years. All 100 counties in North Carolina participate in the effort.
Since the "Big Sweep" began over 10 million pounds of trash have been removed from North Carolina Environments.
