Nearly 100 bags of heroin found in car after chase
A police chase led to the arrest of four people who allegedly had almost 100 bags of heroin with them.
Lenoir County Deputies said Danny Price, 51, failed to stop when officials attempted to pull him over Wednesday on Highway 11 near Highland Avenue.
Deputies said they had to box Price's vehicle in with their patrol cars to stop him.
During a search of that vehicle, deputies found 83 bags of heroin, over $1,000.00 of stolen merchandise and several thousand dollars in cash, officials said.
The merchandise found were items stolen from retail stores in Pitt, Onslow, and Lenoir Counties. That merchandise included a window unit air conditioner, air and power tools, and games for a PlayStation 3.
Price was arrested, along with three other people in the car. They are identified as David Melton, 33, Heather Vallia, 34, and Roy Morris Jr., 37.
All four were charged with felony trafficking by possession and felony possession of stolen goods.
Price was additionally charged of misdemeanor fleeing to elude arrest.
They were all taken to the Lenoir County Detention Center and each placed under a $1,000,000.00 secured bond.
