Police arrested three people for allegedly robbing delivery drivers in Greenville.
On Thursday, officers obtained arrest warrants for 17-year-old Dashawn Davis, 19-year-old Isaiah Purvis, and 20-year-old Shakera Clemons, all of Greenville. They were being held at the Pitt County Detention Center.
Police said the first armed robbery happened at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 8. According to investigators, Davis robbed a driver from the China King restaurant while the victim was making a delivery at 702 Bradley St.
Police said they believe the food order was called in by Davis to lure the driver and set up the robbery. Davis allegedly took cash and food from the driver. The victim was also assaulted and reported minor injuries, investigators said.
Police said the second armed robbery happened at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 24. Davis allegedly worked with Clemons, Purvis, and two unnamed juveniles to order pizza and rob a Domino's delivery driver. The suspects stole cash and food, police said. The victim was assaulted as well.
Detectives said they plan to file petitions against the two juveniles, 12 and 13 years old, believed to be involved in the armed robberies. Their names were not released.
