A major landmark for Trenton, NC will open for business on Friday at noon. The Beer Army Combat Brewery will cut the ribbon and open it’s doors to the 10,500 square foot facility on Industrial Park Dr.
"Everybody is just as excited as I am," said local resident David Ryan. "People are looking forward to the revenue we bring here and people are looking forward to having a place that they can com here locally and sit and have a real good decent beer."
Scott Andrews, the publicist for the brewery, said company is expected to generate $2.7 million of economic impact in Trenton and other surrounding areas over the next 5 years.
"Were also creating 18 to 24 new jobs here in Trenton," said Andrews. "According to the last census in 2010, there are only 287 people here. So if 24 come from Trenton, that's a pretty big deal."
Proceeds from some of the flagship beers will go to the local volunteer fire departments and to Brocks Mill, a local historical landmark. Beer Army has donated more than $75,000 to local charities.
County officials will be in attendance for the ceremony and the general public is invited to come out and taste some free samples of beer. A tour of the Beer Army Combat Brewery facility will take place after the ribbon cutting at noon.
