It was something family members could not prepare for-- losing a mother, a daughter, a sister in a car accident.
"She'd give you the shirt right off her back," said George Basden about his sister. "She'd give you her last dime or nickel she had. Just goodhearted."
Christina Banks, 36, was driving on Richlands Loop Road in Onslow County at about noon on Saturday, Jan. 19, when her car flipped off the road and into a ditch, troopers said.
Her family said Banks was on her way to meet some friends for lunch.
Troopers said she over-corrected and crashed just a few minutes from her home. They said speed may had been a factor.
Banks left behind her children- Erica, Maria, Elena and Christian. Other family members remembered her giving nature and kindness.
"She helped anybody," said Diane Horne, who was like a mother to Banks. "Just a loveable person. I couldn't help but love Christina."
The family planed to establish a memorial fund at a local bank, to help pay bills for the funeral and to support Banks' children.
