Fire Marshal: Fire at Maysville store not suspicious

Crews are still on the scene of a fire reported earlier this morning at 406 Main Street in Maysville, according to Jason Armon, 911 Administrator. The Jones County Fire Marshall said a witness saw smoke coming from the building and called emergency officials. The fire started behind the cash register, and crews do not suspect foul play.

A structure fire was reported in Jones County around 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Maysville Police Department.
The address was listed at 406 Main Street. The building on fire was Maysville Variety Store, a live bait mini-mart. It's right next to the Maysville police and fire station.
Three fire units have been called to the scene.
According to a NewsChannel 12 viewer, smoke was coming out the front door.
