Greenville Police Investigate Armed Robbery Near ECU Campus

GREENVILLE -

Greenville Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened near the campus of ECU overnight.

Police say the incident was reported at the Wells Fargo ATM on 10th St. in Greenville. The campus alert was issued around 10:45 pm. Wednesday.

The report states 20-year-old of Caleb Thomas Harrold, 22-year-old Daniel O'Donnell and 19-year-old Brandon Twigg were robbed at knife point at the drive-up ATM.

O'Donnell said two men approached the car he and his friends were in, pointed a knife, and demanded their money.

"It put me in shock," O'Donnell said. "I wasn't expecting it to happen, especially right on 10th street."

O'Donnell said the friends only had $4, but the robbers took it and ran away. None of the students were injured in the incident.

Police are searching for the two suspects, who the victims say appeared to be in their early 20's. There are no suspects in custody at last check.

Greenville police are reminding students to use the buddy system.
