BEAUFORT COUNTY -

Two female convenience store employees were injured in a Sunday night armed robbery near Washington, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

The scene is less than one mile away from a store that was robbed Saturday night.

The Sunday armed robbery was at the River Road Convenience Store, on River Road near Cedar Circle.

A mother and her adult daughter were the ones injured, according to a family member.

The robber came in with a scarf around his head and a gun in his hand, the family member said.

One of the women tried to remove the robber's scarf.

That's when the robber hit the women with his handgun, the family member said.

Four other family members hid in the back of the store during the robbery.

The victims have minor injuries; family members are thankful no one was seriously hurt.

Investigators are looking into possible connections between this case and the Saturday night armed robbery of the Gaudalupana Tienda Mexicana, a store on the same road and less than a mile from this most recent robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at 252-974-6400. Crime Stoppers will pay up to a $1000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Callers do not have to give their name to receive a reward.
