A road rage incident in Onslow County ends with an arrest. Court documents show one woman assaulted another. The alleged attack happened November first in the parking lot of the Jacksonville Children's Family Health Clinic at 152 Memorial Court in Jacksonville.
Police charged Rachel Ellis, 34, of Hubert with assault Thursday. Ellis allegedly attacked a mother while the mother's four-month-old infant was in the car. Court documents state Ellis jumped into the woman's car, pulled her hair, punched her in the face and spit on her. We tracked down the woman who was listed as the victim in court documents. She agreed to speak with us, but we are not identifying her at her request.
The victim tells us it all started when she says Ellis cut her off in traffic. The victim says she honked her horn at Ellis. She says Ellis then followed her to the health clinic.
The victim says, "she was pulling my hair so hard, she almost had my head out the passenger window, and she was pulling my hair and punching me in the face."
When we asked her what the suspect was saying during the attack, "she wasn't saying anything. When she was doing it, she was yelling at me afterwards.'
The alleged victim tells us she called 911, and police arrived a few minutes later. The woman says she wrote down the license plate number as Ellis drove away.
Ellis was released by the magistrate and is due to appear before an Onslow County judge on November 20th.
