Stuffed animals for child victims of Hurricane Sandy

It's raining stuffed animals at Oaks Road Elementary School in New Bern, but they are not for Jordyn Goodwin. Instead, Goodwin, a second grader, has started a stuffed animal drive for the children affected by Hurricane Sandy.
"I'm hoping they're going to feel better because they get a stuffed animal that they can keep," said Goodwin.
Goodwin knows how important a stuffed animal can be for someone her age, and that's why he came up with the idea of a stuffed animal drive.
"They can feel safe with their stuffed animal like I feel every night," said Goodwin.
The stuffed animals Goodwin has collected so far are from Oaks Road Elementary and Creekside Elementary Schools.
"All of my stuffed animals are my best friends," said Goodwin.
When all of the animals are collected, they will be delivered to Sandy victims by the Baptist Men. If you would like to donate stuffed animals, you may take them to Oaks Road Elementary or First Baptist Church on Middle Street in New Bern.
