Surveillance video released in Family Dollar armed robbery

Police have released the surveillance video of an armed robbery at a Family Dollar store in Greenville.

Just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, two robbers entered the Family Dollar, on S. Memorial Drive, near Arlington Blvd. in Greenville, investigators said. One of the thieves allegedly had a stainless or silver-colored semi-automatic handgun.  

The robbers then threatened the two employees inside the store, and demanded money from the register and safe, police said. The thieves got away with an unknown amount of money.

Both suspects are described as black males, between 18 to 20 years old, police said. They were both wearing dark clothes.  

According to investigators, one of the suspects, about 6' with a slender build, had a white hockey mask on his face.  The other suspect had a red bandana covering his face, and was about 5'10" with an average build, police said.
 
No one was injured during the heist, police said. The suspects escaped on foot and officers are still searching for them.
