Suspect in meth lab, pipe bomb arrested

Deputies have arrested a man accused of manufacturing methamphetamine and possessing a weapon of mass destruction.
James Simpson, 34, was found at the edge of Onslow County at a residence around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon, according to Sheriff Blake Wallace.
The Duplin County Sheriff's Office found the suspect with the assistance of the Onslow County Sheriff's Office.
Officials responded to call for suspicious activity at a home outside of Beulaville on Sandridge Road on Nov.13. When they arrived they found materials for a meth lab and weapons of mass destruction, including a pipe bomb. At the time, Simpson had left the scene.
Simpson is facing multiple charges, including manufacturing methamphetamine, maintaining and dwelling for the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of a fire arm by felon.
He is currently being held at the Duplin County Jail.
