A home for a hero. Russell and Karen Richard have teamed up with Military Missions in Action to build a new home for a disabled veteran. The two donated an acre of land in the Natures Run Subdivision near Oriental, North Carolina. They have been receiving support from across Pamlico County ever since. Richard said they have a short list of candidates, but are still taking applications

In addition to donating the building lot, Russell and his wife are donating their time by acting as the local contact and project managers. They welcome calls from anyone wanting to help. You can reach them at 252-497-6925. Richard said they hope break ground on the new home this month, and that it will be finished by Christmas.
