Amanda Reed case continues to be heard in Onslow County Court
The involuntary manslaughter case against Amanda Reed had a motion hearing in Onslow County Court Tuesday.
Prosecutors against Reed filed a motion to have witnesses take the stand in the upcoming trial. The witnesses prosecutors motioned for included Jacksonville Police Officers.
Reed's defense attorney filed a counter motion, that wouldn't allow said witnesses to take the stand. The attorney said that witnesses were irrelevant as evidence to the involuntary manslaughter case.
According to Reed's testimony, she found her twenty-month-old child dead, in the family's above ground swimming pool, in May of 2013.
Amanda Reed had been previously sentenced to three years probation for a drowning of another child almost four years ago.
