GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Police have arrested a man accused of a series of residential break-ins in Greenville.

According to the Greenville Police Department, 21-year-old Connor Taylor Williams was responsible for several break-ins in the River Hills neighborhood between November 2013 and February 2014.

Investigators said a break in the cases came on Feb. 9, when the suspect entered a home on River Hills Drive while people were inside. Those witnesses contacted police when the suspect left the scene.

Police said they later found Williams at his home on River Hills Drive, but he resisted  arrest at first.

Williams was eventually arrested and charged with breaking and entering, resisting an officer, and assault on a government official.

Detectives said they were able to link Williams to five more break-ins in the area, and on Thursday, he was charged with five counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny after breaking and entering, and one count of larceny of a firearm.

Williams was being held in the Pitt County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.
