Deputies are investigating a surveillance video that shows a teacher grabbing a 6-year-old student, lifting him, then grabbing him by the face.
The incident happened at Riverdale Elementary in Mount Blanchard, Ohio, on May 7. The surveillance video, obtained by ABC affiliate WTVG, shows 6-year-old Ian Nelson walking down a hall and into a restroom.
Later, his teacher, Barb Williams, is seen in the video grabbing the kindergartner and lifting him off the floor and into a wall. The teacher then appears to grab the 6-year-old by his face.
Following the incident, the school district suspended the teacher for 10 days without pay. They are the last 10 days of the school year.
Ian's father, Anthony Nelson, told WTVG he wants the teacher's license revoked. According to Nelson, he was told by the school district that his son went to the wrong restroom.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. At last check, no charges had been filed.
Williams has been a teacher in the district for 14 years, according to the superintendent. WTVG reports that she has hired attorneys.
