According to deputies, 23-year-old Taylor Douglas Hill stabbed his mother, 51-year-old Jane Akines, at the Cedar Creek Resort Mobile Home Park at 684 Roberts Road. Authorities received the call just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Below is an excerpt from the 911 call Akines made after the alleged attack.

AKINES: "My son just stabbed me in the chest- the left of my chest. I can still breathe. But I got the knife away from him in the house."

911 OPERATOR: "Where are you at in the house, ma'am?"

AKINES: "I'm outside because I got away from him."

911 OPERATOR: "Where is your son at now?"

AKINES: "He just opened the front door [inaudible]. He's very upset [inaudible]. I was in my bedroom and he opened the door. I just got home [inaudible]. So I opened the door and he had a pocket knife and he attacked me."

911 OPERATOR: "Okay, and it's a pocket knife?"

AKINES: "I took the knife from him and I hid it in my closet [inaudible]."

911 OPERATOR: I need you to stay on the line with me because if he starts coming at you again, I need to know, okay?

As of Monday, Akines was listed in good condition at Vidant Medical Center, according to a hospital official.

Deputies said Hill became angry at his mother after she confronted him about the
unauthorized use of her vehicle.

Hill was still at the scene when deputies arrived and was taken into custody, investigators said. He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and resisting an officer.

Hill was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $150,000.00 bond. He had his first court appearance Monday morning.
