PITT COUNTY -

A former bail bondsman was arrested in Pitt County for allegedly kidnapping a man and extorting him for money.

According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, 55-year-old Terrance Holloway held a man against his will for two days. They also said Holloway demanded the man to give him $5,500.

The victim told deputies Holloway threatened to have him deported if he did not pay the money. The victim had missed a court case for a DWI.

The victim also told investigators he was handcuffed and brought to Jacksonville.

Deputies said what Holloway did would have been legal. But his bail bondsman license had been suspended about a year ago for not paying child support.

Holloway was arrested in Jacksonville and has been charged with second-degree kidnapping, extortion, and attempting to obtain money by false pretense He was being held in the Pitt County Detention Center on a $210,000 bond.
