Deputies in Lenoir County have arrested two people suspected of running a mobile meth lab.

According to the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office, deputies stopped a vehicle at a checking station on Highway 70 at the Neuse River just after midnight Friday. The driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Brian Malloy, had a suspended driver's license, said investigators.

Deputies said they searched Malloy's vehicle and found a mobile meth lab, meth ingredients and heroin.

Malloy and his passenger, 28-year-old Harriette Borden, were arrested and charged with possession of heroin and methamphetamine precursors. Malloy was also charged with maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances.

Malloy was being held under a $60,000 bond and Borden was being jailed under a $55,000 bond, said investigators. Both suspects are from Newport.
