A van driver has been charged for a two-vehicle wreck that caused a log truck to rollover Wednesday morning, injuring both the suspect and his stepson.

According to the Highway Patrol, 48-year-old Michael Ferguson, of Richlands, has been charged with failure to yield the right of way.

The wreck happened on Highway 41 at Highway 111, just east of Chinquapin, at 9:33 a.m. Wednesday.

Troopers said a Chrysler Town & Country van, driven by Ferguson, pulled out in front of the loaded log truck. The truck then swerved but still hit the van, causing the log truck to roll over into a field. Logs were spilled onto the highway.

The log truck driver was not injured, troopers said.

But Ferguson and his stepson, 27-year-oldĀ  Paul Rickmers, were hurt and were taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Troopers said both men suffered non life-threatening injuries and are "doing good."

Highway 41 at Old Chinquapin Road was blocked off, but has since reopened.
