Major drug trafficker sentenced to prison, 3 alleged associates arrested

CARTERET COUNTY -

A major cocaine distributor has been sentenced to prison, while three of his alleged associates, including his mother, are facing drug charges.

Carteret County deputies said 30-year-old Jason Andrew Embry, of Silver Hill Road in Newport, was ordered on Oct. 1 to serve 21 years and 8 months in prison. According to investigators, Embry was a high-level cocaine distributor  in Eastern Carolina.

Following Embry's sentencing, the Carteret County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects believed to be associated with Embry, deputies said. The suspects are Embry's mother, 52-year-old Vickie Frazier Embry, 59-year-old Dennis Franklin Graham Sr. and 59-year-old Jeffrey Allen Parmley. All three are residents of Newport.

Vickie Embry has been charged with one count each of conspiring to sell and deliver cocaine, selling and delivering cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, and maintaining a dwelling. She was being jailed on a $7,500 bond.

Dennis Graham has been charged with three counts of selling and delivering cocaine, three counts of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of maintaining a dwelling, and one count of conspiring to sell and deliver cocaine. He was being held on a $20,000 secured bond.

Jeffrey Parmley has been charged with one count of conspiring to sell and deliver cocaine. He was given a $3,000 secured bond.

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office worked with the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office and agents from the ICE Wilmington office on this case.
