The N.C. Department of Transportation held a meeting Thursday to discuss the proposed construction of a median on Charles Boulevard in Greenville.
The median would be on Charles Boulevard from Greenville Boulevard to Red Banks Road.
In a five-year period, there have been 105 crashes on this half-mile stretch of road, records show.
The proposed median would eliminate the turning lane in the middle of the road, leaving only one opening for traffic to turn both left and right-- by the mall.
If approved, the project could cost as much as $200,000.
