MAYSVILLE, JONES COUNTY -

A Jones County daycare owner was arrested for allegedly stabbing her husband, and police said the blade missed his lung by less than half an inch. But the suspect said her husband attacked her too.

According to investigators, Lynneill Lanclos, owner and operator of Golden Child Learning at 404 Eighth St. in Maysville, got into a fight with her husband, Joaquin Lanclos, at their home. Police said they got the call at about 6 a.m. Monday.

Once Maysville Police and Jones County deputies arrived at the Lanclos' home off of First Street, they found Lynneill bleeding from her lip and bruised on her face and arms, investigators said. Lynneill claimed she and her husband had gotten into a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical fight.

Police said Lynneill and her husband, Joaquin, exchanged several blows. Lynneill then left the home, but returned and stabbed Joaquin with a kitchen knife, according to investigators. The husband was stabbed on the left side of his upper torso and x-rays revealed that the blade missed his lungs by less than half an inch. The wound required several stitches, police said.

Lynneill Lanclos has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in the Jones County Jail.

Her husband, Joaquin Lanclos, is also being held in the Jones County Jail on a charge of assault on a female. Both suspects will go before a magistrate on Wednesday for bonds, police said.

Investigators said this is not the first time Lynneill Lanclos has been charged with assault. According to police, she was previously arrested in June for allegedly assaulting a woman at a fast food drive-thru.

NewsChannel 12 spoke with the victim, who is also Joaquin’s ex-girlfriend. The victim said she was in the drive-thru line at Hardee's getting breakfast for her two young daughters when Lynneill approached her car.

"She got in my face and was spitting on me and yelling. Then next thing I know she hits me and the altercation broke out," said the victim.

Investigators said Lynneill beat the victim in front of her children, causing severe cuts on the face that required several stitches to close.
