Police release sketch of alleged armed robber at Greenville Mall

GREENVILLE, PITT COUNTY -

Police have released a composite sketch of a man who they say robbed a family at the Greenville Mall Thursday night.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 19 to 25 years old, with a slim muscular build.  According to investigators, he was wearing jeans, a black t-shirt and a Pittsburgh Pirates hat.

Police said the man robbed the family at the Greenville Mall parking lot, as the victims were standing by their cars and talking. It happened at about 9 p.m. Thursday. The suspect asked the victims for a light, then pulled out a silver handgun and demanded jewelery, officers told NewsChannel 12.

The robber took $500 in cash, jewelery and watches from the victims, before running towards Arlington Boulevard, police said.
