NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY -

New Bern Police are investigating a pair of break-ins on Broad Street; surveillance images have been released in one of the incidents.

The first break-in happened at Armstrong Grocery just before 10 p.m. on Sunday; the second happened about an hour and a half later at the Country Biscuit restaurant.

Police say the man in the surveillance pictures released by the NBPD threw a cinder block through a window at Armstrong Grocery; the owner of the store tells us cigarettes were taken.

At the Country Biscuit, police say a suspect came in through the drive thru window and stole some cash.

Police are investigating whether the two incidents are related; they say they don't have any suspects at this time.
