Wanted kidnapping suspect accused of throwing woman out of car

KINSTON, LENOIR COUNTY -

Police said they are looking for a man who allegedly kidnapped his estranged girlfriend, then threw her from his vehicle.

According to the Kinston Department of Public Safety, Robert Lewis Etheridge, of Henderson, is wanted for first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Witnesses told police that Etheridge was involved in a disturbance with his estranged girlfriend outside of 5 B Mithcell Wooten Ct. in Kinston just before 9:37 p.m. on Nov. 29. According to the witnesses, the suspect then drove away with the victim dangling from the vehicle.

The victim told officers that Etheridge held her in his car against her will, then drove to Mewborn Avenue before throwing her from the vehicle. The victim suffered injuries and was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for treatment, investigators said.
