Police have arrested several suspects in a drive-by shootout in Morehead City.

MOREHEAD CITY, CARTERET COUNTY -

Police have arrested several suspects in a drive-by shootout in Morehead City.

Investigators said four people have been charged for the gunfight Friday night-- cousins Shaquan Marquarius Frazier and Demetre Lakwanne Frazier, both 19, of Havelock, Terry Kendall George Jr, 27, of Newport, and a 15-year-old juvenile, of Havelock (not pictured).

Investigators said a gun was fired from the driver's side of the car and shattering the passenger window. Police said George was driving the car and fired that gun across the juvenile who was in the passenger seat, hitting his own car door.

Morehead City Police said the four suspects were in a silver Toyota Camry and were engaged in a gunfight with the person(s) in a white SUV. It happened near the U.S. 70 and the Crystal Coast Plaza intersection at about 11:08 p.m. Friday.

Havelock Police were able to stop the Toyota Camry on McCotter Boulevard in Havelock and arrested the four suspects inside, investigators said.

"When the vehicle was located we did find one fire arm with three shell casings," Lt. Kelly Guthrie said.

The shootout resulted in a bullet hole and a shattered window on the suspects' Toyota, said police. Officers are still looking for the white SUV, which has Florida tags.

No injuries were reported.

Donnie Parker said she has lived in the area for 11 years.

"This is the safest place I’ve ever lived in my life. So for something like this to happen is very rare to me," she said.

Parker said she comes to this shopping center with her granddaughter all the time and this type of crime concerns her.

"I don't want to see this town end up like other towns. I really don’t," she explained.

"I think it's just sad people would try and shoot each other and hurt each other,” concerned citizen Alton Newbold.

Shaquan Frazier and his cousin, Demetre Frazier, have both been charged with conspiracy to discharge a firearm into an occupied vehicle and possession of a firearm by a felon, said police.

Terry George has been charged with discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a stolen firearm, according to investigators.

The 15-year-old juvenile was taken to the New Hanover Correctional Facility.
