NEW BERN, CRAVEN COUNTY -

Crews have begun building the set for filming another episode of "Sleepy Hollow" at Tryon Palace in New Bern.

Set designers unloaded trucks full of props and set pieces Sunday morning to build the town commons area in front of the palace.

Matt Sullivan, set decorator, says the show is a combination of action, thriller and comedy genres. He says Tryon Palace serves as the location where the main character has flashbacks.

"It takes place both in contemporary times and then, the Ichabod Crane character kind of relates events from the past, and those are flashbacks to the Revolutionary War times," Sullivan said.

Filming is scheduled to take place during the day next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 24 to 26) at Tryon Palace. Anyone interested in being an extra can find details here: www.facebook.com/RevoCastingCalls.

"It's not something you see every day, so people of course like to walk by and even visit to see some of the set out here," said Craig Ramey, marketing and communications director for Tryon Palace.

He adds that the crew's presence can help boost New Bern's economy.

"Folks do have to stay in hotels, and they do have to eat in area restaurants and they're going to be here for about a week," Ramey said. "So that's obviously going to be a lot of people going out and just experiencing New Bern, too."

In addition to Tryon Palace, the Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern and the Sherwood Motel in Havelock were also used as shooting locations for the show.

"Sleepy Hollow" is a mystery-adventure action series that debuted Monday night on NewsChannel 12's sister station, FOX Eastern Carolina.  It airs every Monday at 9 p.m.

There's a chance Tryon Palace can make more appearances in the future.

"I don't know what the future holds for upcoming episodes, but I have a feeling there's a very strong change we'll be back," Sullivan said.
