EASTERN CAROLINA -

There are more near record-low highs expected for Thursday's forecast.

We just missed setting record-cold high temperatures on Wednesday by a of couple degrees. But another Arctic air mass will arrive before the weekend.

While still 10 to 15 degrees below normal, we'll at least moderate to near 40 degrees by Thursday afternoon. By Thursday night, another clipper will rip through Eastern Carolina, dropping temperatures once again.

As the cold air rushes in early Friday morning, gusty northwesterly winds 15 to 25 mph will make the wind chills feel like 5 to 10 degrees above by Friday morning.

We do not anticipate any snow with this Arctic front. Any cloud cover will quickly clear out by mid-Friday morning. However, temperatures will struggle to reach the upper 20s for Friday afternoon.

Another Arctic high pressure will settle over us for Saturday morning, with temperatures once again starting off in the teens.

We'll moderate back to near normal temperatures by early next week before the next Arctic blast arrives.
