WCTI-TV(ABC) and WFXI/WYDO-TV(FOX) are looking for a local sales manager. The LSM will assist the director of sales in the day-to-day management of local sales staff in our tri-hyphenated market. As we have already established, the local sales team will be managed by both the LSM and Deparment of Sales. This would include daily coaching and training of the Bonten Sales Process. In order to work closely with the DOS, the base office would be New Bern, N.C. The weekly schedule would be a rotating one that would look similar to the following: Monday in Greenville, Tuesday and Friday in New Bern, and Wednesday in the Jacksonville-Morehead City area, with Thursday as a floating day between Jacksonville and Greenville. There will be calls in Raleigh, Winston Salem and Wilmington on a quarterly basis as well.
The LSM will assist in all new business initiatives with our NRS and Tell Us More partners, inventory management and pricing, recuitment and developing top performers, and developing sales opportunities to achieve local budgets.
In addition, each manager will have areas of expertise to develop our team in specific areas that will contribute to our overall share growth. One area that the LSM position would be responsible for would be using knowledge of ratings and Harris/Ad Connections' products to develop quarterly ratings estimates and provide presentations with rationale to our staff for positioning our stations. They would also use this for teaching and continued education on transactional breakouts, including strategic planning of local accounts.
The LSM will work closely with the local sales assistant to develop sell sheets for our on-air, online and mobile products, including our digital sub channels to maximize and grow shares locally. They would also work with our sales management team to empower our sellers and hold them accountable on the offering of multi-platform solutions to our advertisers. This individual will work closely with the DOS to further develop systems and fine-tune SOP that will be duplicated in all of our sales offices. The LSM, along with the DOS, will support the efforts of aligning all of these procedures with the Bonten Sales Process and our Culture of Excellence.
The LSM will assist in weekly sales meetings and training sessions. They will be responsible for developing relationships with current advertising partners and prospects alike. They will be responsible for assisting local sellers by going on local sales calls in and out of market.
