Blitz Week 8: New Bern Continues To Dominate

NEW BERN -

The New Bern Bears ran their record to 7-0 with a 39-7 win over Hoggard.

Bears senior QB Josh Taylor lead the way with 350 all-purpose yards including two touchdowns rushing and one passing.

Bra'Lon Cherry caught four passes for 111 yards, 61 of those coming on a TD catch right before halftime.

Chandler Powell had 76 receiving yards and Jachin Watkins ran for 86 yards and 2 TDs.

The Bears will host Ashley next week in their final regular season game at Caruso-Coates Stadium.

Ayden-Grifton 70  Spring Creek 0

The Chargers used a 75 yard punt return from Tyree Blount and some great defense to win 70-0 over Spring Creek.

Jacksonville 23  West Craven 21

Mario Jordan scored three second half touchdowns to lead the Cardinals to a 23-21 come from behind win.  The Eagles took a 14-3 halftime lead on two Demetres Abrams 53 yard TD runs.

South Central 7  Havelock 41

Derrell Scott had a 46 yard TD run and Pharoh Cooper had another big night as the Rams defeat the Falcons 41-7.

Laney 44  JH Rose 47

The Rampants squeaked out a 47-44 come from behind win over Laney thanks to a strong effort from QB Khalil Smith.

West Carteret 19  DH Conley 44

The Vikings fell behind early but put enough points on the board to run away from the Patriots 44-19.

East Duplin 14  Croatan 0

East Duplin nailed two field goals in the first half and added a touchdown in the second half to shutout Croatan 14-0.

Washington 34  White Oak 0

The Pam Pack started off with a 60 yard TD run from Stevie Green on their first play from scrimmage to set the tone and ruin Homecoming for the Vikings 34-0.

Jones Senior 0  SW Onslow 50

The Stallions said they had a good week of practice coming in and it looked like it on Senior Night.  they hung half a hundred on Jones Senior.  A TD run by Emmit Johnson and a TD catch by J'Veon Walker sealed it for the Stallions.

Richlands 10  Swansboro 7 OT

The Pirates held a 7-0 lead at the half but it was the Wildcats that would come out in the second half with a bit better offense.  Richlands did not let a missed field goal come back to haunt them as they defeat Swansboro 10-7 in overtime.

Dixon 37  Pamlico 14

Dixon would block a Pamlico punt and recover a Hurricane fumble to pull away and hand the Hurricanes another loss 37-14.

Perquimans 18  Southside 60

Rakeem Miller and Andrew Jones combined for 300 yards rushing to lead the  Seahawks to a blowout win over the Pirates 60-18.

LeJeune 35  East Carteret 8

The Devil Pups overwhelmed the Mariners 35-8 to move to 2-0 in Coastal Plains Conference action.

North Duplin 41  Princeton 26

North Duplin had over 400 yards rushing to defeat Princeton 41-26. 

Farmville 22  Beddingfield 17

The Jaguars snapped a 16 game losing streak with a 22-17 win over the Bruins.  Malik Foskey had 143 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.
