P.J. Hairston
SALISBURY, ROWAN COUNTY -

The court appearance for suspended North Carolina leading scorer P.J. Hairston on charges of speeding and reckless driving has been continued until next week.

Hairston's case was scheduled for Friday morning in Salisbury, where Hairston was cited for driving 93 mph in a 65 mph zone last month. Christie Olberman, a deputy clerk for Rowan County District Court, said the case is continued until Tuesday morning.

Attorney T. Gregory Jones declined to comment by email on his client's case Friday afternoon.

UNC suspended Hairston indefinitely on July 28, hours after he was stopped on southbound Interstate 85. That marked the third off-court misstep this offseason for the junior, who was cited twice in the span of a month by authorities while driving a rental vehicle linked to a felon.
